Clinician: Janna Bankston Ritacco of Greer, SC, is a Carolina Region Graduate HA from Western North Carolina Pony Club and a USPC Level 2 National Examiner. Janna is qualified to be an Examiner for C3, HB and B Tests.

Purpose:
January 16 - Provide teaching opportunities on the flat and over fences for C1 – B pony clubbers with written and verbal feedback and a chance to “re-teach” and improve.
January 17 – Provide an opportunity for C1 and Up members to ride under Janna’s instruction in preparation for their next Rating. Assessment and verbal feedback will be given through out mounted sessions.

Schedule:
Saturday, January 16
8:00 – 11:00 Classroom studies on teaching styles, teaching strategies, teaching
obstacles, and lesson plan development
11:00 – 12:00 Set up arena for lessons
12:30 – 5:30 Teaching of Lessons
(Overnight accommodates can be made, if you wish to participate in mounted lessons on Sunday.)

Sunday, January 17
8:00 – until Mounted Lessons, C1 and Up, with Janna Ritacco
Riders will participate in at least two mounted lessons this day.

FEES:
Two-day Clinic (Teaching to Teach and Mounted Clinic): $125 Unmounted Clinic
(Includes meals, stabling and two bags of shavings.)
One-day Teaching to Teach Clinic (Saturday only): $50 (includes breakfast/ lunch)
One-day Mounted Clinic (Sunday only): $50 (includes breakfast/ lunch) *
(*) Stabling and Shavings: $25

Stalls/Shavings: stall and two bags of shavings are included in the two-day clinic fee. Each participant must be prepared to setup tack outside of your assigned stall. Extra shavings are available at $5 per bag.

Meals: Clinic fees include breakfast and lunch on both Saturday and Sunday and dinner on Saturday for riders. Meal cost for the weekend for those not riding in the clinic is $10. Please let us know how many additional meals will be needed when you sign up and/or if you have any specific dietary needs.
Parents/Volunteers/Auditors:
Parents, volunteers and auditors are welcome. Volunteer activities may include but are not limited to --- food preparation, set up and clean up, water cooler fillers, jump crew, etc. Come help and join in the fun! Meals for the volunteers/ Auditors attending this clinic will cost $10 for the weekend.
Move In:
If you plan to to participate in the two-day clinic, please plan to arrive after 3:00 Friday, January 15, or before 7:30 AM on Saturday, January 16. **Upon arrival, check in with registration before unloading to make sure paperwork and payment is complete** Stall assignments posted at registration.

Directions:
Highway 26 to Exit 1 (Landrum, SC, exit): At the top of exit ramp, turn away from Landrum towards North Carolina (from Columbia turn right/from Asheville turn left). Go approximately one mile until you reach Stott’s Trailer Sales (right-hand side). Turn right onto Jackson Grove Road which becomes North Pacolet Road. Pass Caroland Farms and turn right onto Landrum Mill Road. Cross small cement bridge. Fox Meadow Farm will be your first driveway on the left. You will see the covered arena from the Road.

Equipment to bring:
All mounted participants must wear an armband, and have a current, signed copy of their medical release in the armband. Please bring notebook, pen/pencil, a flat and over fences lesson plan for the D and C level (4 plans total) and proper footwear. For your comfort, it may be advisable to bring a folding chair.

Dogs: should be left at home. We appreciate your cooperation with this request.
